Pimple Bill is a lonesome cowboy who gallops through Piper Prairies in search of adventure. Pimple is ten and has already got a past. His face is a forest of perpetual pimples that instil fear and horror in his enemies (but also in his friends).

When he comes across the Nachos tribe, famous for their corn on the cob-styled hair and caramel coloured skin, the head of the tribe, Fitting Bull, invites him to the Great Hunt of the Greasy Buffalo, a legendary bovine with a slick coat like the soft doughy bread of the pampas. The Buffalo has never been captured for centuries and centuries. But then again it has never encountered the infallible cowboy and his wild rash of spots.

While competing with Prickly Peak, a Nachos warrior with a puffed out chest like a stuffed turkey, Pimple manages to defeat bandits and risk his life to win the hand of the beautiful Cactus Bud and land himself in even more trouble.
